In Lake Atitlan, Santa Cruz La Laguna offers one of the best retirement destination
Santa Cruz La Laguna is the first village right after Panajachel when you hit the North Shore public boat line. It is only 15 -20 minutes boat ride depending the lake condition. The boat trip, One Way, cost from Panajachel to Santa Cruz La Laguna for a foreigner resident in Santa Cruz, Q 10.00. If you are a tourist passing by you might be charged up to Q 20.00.
So this close destination make it remote but at the same times very accessible. The fact that the road is coming down only to the village and doesn't spread along the shore makes it very quiet, safe and the air clean.
